Stiers Signs with IU East

Boys Soccer Players Receive State Honors

Several AHS boys soccer team members received state recognition for their work on and off the field this season. Junior Wesley Erny earned 1st team All District along with academic all state honors. Cross Country Runners Advance

Anderson will be well represented this weekend at the Delta Cross Country Regional. The boys team consisting of Jason Kabir, Austin Stevens, Aaron Ditsworth, Eddie Amalfitano, Xavier Jones, Roy Thomas and James Brandon advances after finishing third at last weekend’s Pendleton Heights Sectional. NCC names academic all conference athletes

Several AHS fall athletes have been named  Academic All North Central Conference. The following seniors have been named to the team: Cross Country- Jason Kabir, Volleyball- Allison Smitherman, Football- Jalen Gutierrez, Tennis- Joe Moran, Quinton Bell, and Jonathon Brandon. Also making the team were: Girls Soccer- Janae Davis and Kayla McLemore and representing Boys Soccer- Bryler

Nadaline named all conference

 Freshman Alexa Nadaline has been named all North Central Conference based off her performance in the recent NCC Championship. Alexa shot a round of 95 at the Coyote Crossing course in Lafayette during the tournament. Alexa was the only freshman to make the all conference team. Congrats, Alexa.

Lady Golfers finish 5th at NCC Championship

The Lady Indians golf team finished 5th on Saturday at the NCC Championships held at Coyote Crossing in Lafayette. The team was edged out of 4th by one shot with Harrison’s 412 to AHS’s 413. New Year, New Faces

 As the school year has started, there are some new faces that will be on the sidelines coaching the Indians this coming year. Volleyball has already begun their season under new coach Kelli Marchello. She comes to Anderson from Marion High School and also the Munciana volleyball program. Shannon Cleckley will be taking over the girls basketball

Varsity Boys Soccer Ties Yorktown

The varsity boys soccer team played to a 6-6 tie against Yorktown on Tuesday, August 25.  The Indian booters were up 4-1 at halftime before the Yorktown comeback in the second half. The Indians are back in action on the pitch on Saturday, August 29 as they host Muncie Burris.

Varsity Football Kickoffs Off Home Season

The Indians varsity football team will host Pendleton Heights in the 2015 season home opener on Friday, August 28.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.  It’s a RED-OUT NIGHT! Wear your red and show your Anderson High pride! Also, in conjunction with Anderson’s Sesquicentennial Celebration, the first 2,000 fans will receive a commemorative sesquicentennial pennant.

Swimmers compete at NCC Championships

The Anderson high School swim teams competed this past weekend in the NCC Championships held at Purdue University’s pool. Both the boy’s and girl’s teams finished fifth out of the ten conference schools. The 200 freestyle relay boy’s team consisting of Noah Bozell, Christian Poole William Lashbrook and Hamilton Smith were NCC champions with a time
