Anderson Indians took the lead late in the game in a 10-7 victory over Mt. Vernon on Monday. The game was tied at six with Anderson Indians batting in the bottom of the fifth when Nate Gray singled off of Shelton, driving in one run.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Anderson Indians collected ten hits and Mt. Vernon eight
Mt. Vernon captured the lead in the first inning. Shelton grounded out, scoring one run.
Anderson Indians scored three runs in the sixth inning. Anderson Indians scored on a single , a double by Jacob Morris, and a single by Keaton Davis.
Nate Gray earned the win for Anderson Indians . He pitched three innings, surrendering one run, one hit, striking out one, and walking zero. Griego took the loss for Mt. Vernon. He tossed, giving up zero runs, one hit, and walking one.
McCarty started the game for Mt. Vernon. He threw four innings, allowing six runs, five hits, striking out three, and walking one. Braden Odom started the game for Anderson Indians . He went one-third of an inning, allowing three runs, and zero hits.
Morris went 1-for-1 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
