ANDERSON — “We needed to get that one,” said Anderson coach Shannon Cleckley of the Lady Tribe’s 59-50 victory over conference rival Richmond Friday night.
It was Anderson’s first victory after opening the season with three losses. The Red Devils dropped to 0-2.
There were several improvements in this game to Anderson’s previous outing two days before. Against Fishers only two Tribe players had scored by halftime and they trailed 38-21. Against Richmond six AHS players had scored before the end of the first quarter and the home team was on top 38-18 at intermission.
Kenigia Hamilton topped Anderson with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Antaria Hammond followed with 12 points and DeeDee Sutton pitched in 11.
Overall eight Indians got into the scoring column. Alandis Hill scored seven, while Tiana Ford and Erin Martin scored four apiece.
