The 2017 Madison County softball tournament will feature nine teams in the region, including Anderson, Elwood, Frankton, Alexandria, Anderson Prep, Madison-Grant, Liberty Christian, and Lapel.
From The Herald Bulletin:
Five of the nine teams were ranked in the coaches’ poll released a week ago. The highest ranked team is the Argylls, who came out as No. 8 in Class 2A. Elwood is No. 9 in the same class, and Lapel is right behind at No. 10. Frankton is No. 18 in 2A and Pendleton Heights No. 23 in 4A.
“I think that seven of the teams can win the county,” said PH coach Rob Davis. “There is not one team that could be called a true favorite. That is a testament to the talent that is present in the county.”
Anderson will play Elwood in the first round game tonight at 5:30. The winner will play against Pendleton Heights on Wednesday. The tournament will continue on Thursday and Saturday if Anderson keeps winning. Good luck to the Lady Tribe!
